Zoster (Shingles) Vaccine

Herpes zoster (Shingles) is commonly a painful and sometimes debilitating medical condition. As many as one in three people will have Shingles in their lifetime. Zostavax Vaccines are funded (free) for patients aged 65. There is a catch up programme until the end of 2020 for those aged 66 to 80 years old and the vaccine is currently free for this age group also. Unfunded Vaccines are $240.00. Please book a nurses appointment with reception.

Influenza Vaccine

Influenza can be anywhere, so you can easily catch it, or spread it to other people. Flu Vaccines are now available. They are provided free for those who need it most and will be available all year. If you are pregnant, aged over 65, or are under 65 and have ongoing medical conditions, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, respiratory disease, kidney disease and some cancers, you will be eligible for a free vaccination. Unfunded vaccines are $30 or $20 for children under 6. Make your appointment online or ring reception.

Measles is a highly infectious viral illness

Measles is very infectious. If you think you have measles symptoms or believe you have been exposed to measles - TELEPHONE US anytime 24/7 for advice. Do NOT visit the Medical Centre. Due to the continuing MMR vaccine shortage we are currently only able to vaccinate the recommended priority groups.

STOP if you think you have a contagious disease such as FLU OR MEASLES

Do you have a fever or a bad cough?
Have you recently arrived from overseas?
To prevent spread of infection do NOT visit the medical centre.
Please phone and ask to speak to a practice nurse who will assess your condition prior to arriving for an appointment.
